HOT ROAST BEEF SANDWICHES (LUNCH)

1 lb. thinly sliced roast beef

1 can beef broth

1 whole onion, thinly sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 small can sliced mushrooms

2 tablespoons ketchup

1/2 tsp. onion powder

1/4 tsp. garlic powder

1/4 tsp. each salt and pepper

In a medium saucepan, bring beef broth to a boil. Add onion and garlic powder, ketchup, minced garlic and sliced onion.

When broth comes to a rolling boil, drop in the separated sliced roast beef and remove immediately from heat. Using a slotted spoon, remove roast beef from broth after 2-3 minutes. Return broth to stove on high setting and sprinkle Wondra flour over surface, stirring briskly to avoid lumps.

Simmer over medium heat 5 minutes. At the last minute, drain the sliced mushrooms and add. Pour over roast beef on white bread. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Serve.

Try a sandwich for lunch. Here are sandwhiches to choose from. Good luck!

You know, like scones and thinks like that. What are some British breakfast items and where can I find recipes for them?
We don't eat scones for breakfast. they are for tea.

    Bubble %26amp; Squeak.

Basically, Bubble %26amp; Squeak used to be all the vegetables that had not been used on the evening meal being fried together the next morning. Now these modern day recipes are making it just a little bit too fancy.
Full english breakfast: Fried mushrooms, roast tomatoes, toast with butter, rudding, sausages, fried potatoes (optional), fried egg, and never, ever forget the tea. Have to drink tea with and english breakfast.

I might be forgetting things here.
English muffins and poached or fried egg, sausages, fried tomatoes, muffins(i think) and scones etc.
Blood sausage, kippers, scottish eggs. Try cookbooks - Joy of Cooking, Better Home %26amp; Gardens. Go to the library or type in British recipes on the internet.

Plain yogurt with orange marmalade and glazed walnuts. (To glaze walnuts -- mix 1/4 cup of butter, 1/4 cup brown sugar and 1 cup walnuts in a fry pan. Turn on the heat on med. high, and shake but don't stir until nice and bubbly. Turn out onto buttered foil and let cool). Serve with toast and a really nice tea, like Jasmine or Celestial Seasonings' Mandarin Orange Tea.

Most people don't like to make a production out of breakfast. I think a spinach and cheese omelette with a little whole wheat toast and maybe half an orange is a great breakfast!

But, if you do want to get fancy, cinnamon rolls are nice, too. Take your favorite bread dough (frozen is OK, or make it up in the breadmaker), spread it into a rectangle, and add a layer of sugar, butter and cinnamon (try 1/4 cup sugar and 1/4 cup butter with 1 tsp of cinnamon for starters -- make up more if you need it). Roll it up, and cut it with a knife or dental floss. Put it in a square baking pan (like you use for brownies) and keep in the fridge until morning. Pull it out an hour before you bake it to let it rise. Then bake at 175 C (350 F) for 20 to 30 minutes or until the bread is baked through (see package or recipe for ';buns'; and follow those directions).

Healthy and tasty recipes for young vegetarian's breakfast?

I need recipes for healthy and tasty recipes for a young vegetarian's breakfast. My sister and I are lacking in the things we're missing out on without meat in our diet, so, things high in protein, iron, calcium and anything else we may be missing would be much appreciated! The healthier the better. Complicated recipes are no problem, but nothing that will take longer than a half an hour to make. Thank you!Healthy and tasty recipes for young vegetarian's breakfast?
I'm assuming you are lacto-ovo, as you did not specify. Eggs and cheese are sources of protein, and super easy. Add some spinach and make eggs florantine for a little more iron. Yogurt is great for calcium and protein, and contains probiotics. A simple breakfast of cereal with milk or soy milk, and a piece of fruit is enough for me, but I get veggies and beans in other meals. You can try quinoa and veggies for breakfast. I also like oatmeal, but add nuts for protein to it and dried fruit, sometimes I'll just mix peanutbutter, honey, and a banana in (a trick I learned from staying in hotels when I travel, it's almost always available at continental breakfasts, warm, and filling enough to keep me satisfied until lunch, even doing work outdoors). Healthy and tasty recipes for young vegetarian's breakfast?
    Breakfasts are a sinch.

I eat this exact breakfast even before I was Vegetarian

2 weetbix + Banana on top (weetbix are fortified with iron, zinc, folate)

w/ soymilk (Im lactose intolerant, but the soy milk is fortified with calcium and vitamin D)

1/2 a piece of whole grain toast with almond butter (protien!, and peanut butter is fine too)

And wash it down with a small glass of apple and mango juice (no added sugar)

It sounds complicated, but man I love my breakfast :)
    I really love scrambled tofu.

I'm an Italian boy and I'd like to cook a typical american breakfast.May I have some good recipes?

I mean something easy to cook but very very tasty!

    Thanks a lot!!

    Greetings from Rome!!

Ciao e grazie!I'm an Italian boy and I'd like to cook a typical american breakfast.May I have some good recipes?
Unfortunately there really isn't a ';typical'; American breakfast. It depends on what part of the country you grew up in and what your ethnic background is.

I live in NY. I guess a typical breakfast would be eggs, meat and bread. If I am making an easy breakfast I scramble eggs in butter with salt and pepper. I slightly undercook them and cover them and they get nice and fluffy. On the side a grilled ham steak or bacon, and some type of toasted bread (I prefer English muffin or bagel) with butter. If I am particularly motivated I might make hash browns. Oh, and OJ.

By the way we returned from Italy a few months ago. We had this great juice in the morning. I thought it was blood orange juice, but when I juiced blood oranges my eyes watered from the tartness and bitterness. We also had some soft cheese with bread. Do you know what either of these are and where I can buy them in the states?I'm an Italian boy and I'd like to cook a typical american breakfast.May I have some good recipes?
Here you go, Buy some pillsbury southern biscuits and put in oven. Brown off some Jimmy dean pork sausage (1#) add 1/4 cup flour and cook 30 seconds stirring. Add 1 quart whole milk and cook until thick. Cook a few eggs and put on top of buscuits with gravy on top of that. UUUMMMMM.

You should only eat this once in a while as it is loaded with fat.
Typical? Dry cereal and milk! Lucky Charms. OR you can make scrambled eggs, bacon and pancakes! Yum!
My favorite is Sausage Gravy %26amp; Biscuits but Chef24 beat me to it. Second favorite- Sliced ham fried till it has crispy spots, eggs scrambled with a bit of grated cheddar %26amp; whole wheat toast with orange marmalade.
I'm providing you with more than 100 American recipes. Recipes which are easy to cook and tasty to eat. You can find these secret recipes at:

This is not american it is something my family does in canada.

Chop up and cook in an equal amount of chopped onion.

Make an omelet - mix together 2 or 3 eggs and some milk.

i usu sally make scrambled eggs, bacon, or sausage. I also pair it with hash browns and orange juice

Eggs- Crack and fry in a greased pan (you can use olive oil or some other type of cooking oil) add salt and pepper to taste, cook until they are done.

Sausage/ bacon- fry in the same pan as the eggs (you may want to cook these items first so that you can use the grease from the meat to flavor your eggs) cook until no longer pink.

Hash browns- cut up already cooked potatoes and fry in a skillet with cooking oil until they re brown and crispy but not burnt.

    GOOD LUCK!!!!
Here is what I saw on the Food Network channel and made and it was loved by all.

2 c shredded or cubed potatoes precooked is best

    1/2 c red onion

    1 c cooked ham'; from a ham dinner is good or ham steak cut up';

1 c red, green, yellow and orange bell pepper cut in to 1/2 in cubes

1-2 tomatoes Roma tomatoes are good, so are beef steak tomatoes but remove the seeds as its to juicy with them.

    2 cups precooked pork sausage

cook all on a flat top grill or on a griddle til all is slightly browned and crisp tender. Add 4 eggs that have been whisked well and stir all to gether til eggs are completely cooked and fluffy. Bacon:

i use turkey bacon because i dont eat pork anymore but let me tell you - tastes just as good and is healthier! also doesnt crumble or shrivel up..try it sometime just fry in your skillet over medium heat

You should also try making hash browns with butter and onions, or a breakfast casserole dish. Fruit, toast and fresh milk are also yummy additions
I make eggs with alot of milk and whip them with a fork until they are very light and fluffy. I cook them until just firm and they taste soooo good.

Sometimes I add tomatoes and feta cheese to my eggs for a yummy Greek omelet.

My bf Joe makes blueberry and choc chip pancakes. He just gets the mix and adds extra eggs to the batter and choc chips or blueberries. Defrosted frozen blueberries work fine.

Joe also makes some kind of peddlers fries in the pan. He takes potatoes cuts them into wedges and seasons them with some spices and cooks them slow in oil in the cast iron pan. Very good, different from home fries or hash browns....but I don't know all his secrets.
Tortilla's , pat with butter and put ham and cheese in it and roll it up and microwave it a second or two. Or you can use two tortilla's and sandwich the ham and cheese in between and grill it like a grilled cheese.

Grilled cheese and ham sandwich's are good also.

I am not an egg eater in the morning.

Hot pockets are fast and easy also.

What I love to do for Cmas morning is make a breakfast casserole! You assemble it the night before, refrigerate it, then throw it in the oven 45 min or so before you're ready to eat. About the time they're done opening presents, breakfast is ready. All you need with it is some OJ, coffee, and maybe a fresh fruit salad.

There is a recipe called Christmas morning wifesaver I am sure you can google.

To be PC the name might have changed.

It is basically a ham, cheese, and egg strata.

If you emailed me I could probably give the recipe.

    How you do it

    lay bread in buttered pan.

lay ham and cheese on the bread.

    Maybe onion, maybe green pepper.

Top with another layer of bread and more cheese.

Lastly you pour an omelet mixture of eggs and milk on to soak it, put it in the fridge overnight and bake it in the morning.

It is a complete meal that people can grab as they want it.

Just make some home fries or fruit salad to go with it.

Older people love champagne for Christmas breakfast.

Freixenet is a good champagne method wine that is reasonably priced.

For alcohol free - half tonic water, half orange juice in a fancy glass with ice and drip in some grenadine.

If you got a sweet tooth, brown the flour tortilla, moisten it with a little water, sprinkle sugar, or Splenda, and cinnamon. A pleasant treat. All of these are health conscious for we BIGG people.

    I'm not that original lol.

How about making a bunch of breakfast burritos.

12 medium sized flour tortillas (tomato is nice)

    12 eggs

1/2 diced red or green pepper

12 slices of processed cheese (any flavor)

12 slices of pre cooked bacon (or 6 sausage patties cooked and crumbled)

Scramble the eggs with the red or green pepper. If you are using cooked sausage rounds, crumble them in the eggs during the last minute. Add salt and pepper to taste.

    Lay out the tortillas.

Place 1 slice of cheese in the middle of each tortilla

Distribute the egg mixture evenly between the tortillas. If using bacon, break each piece in half and lay on top of the eggs.

Roll the tortillas into individual burritos, wrap each with a paper towel, and place in a large baggie to freeze.

You can take one out each morning and reheat for 30 seconds to 1 minute - quick breakfast :)

Spray a dinner plate with Pam. In small bowl, mix together 1/2 cup pancake mix, 1 teaspoon real bacon bits and 1/3 cup milk (add more as needed).

Pour it into the plate %26amp; microwave it about 4 minutes and put butter %26amp; syrup on it.

    Hope this works for you.
How about a piece of whole grain bread(The fiber will help keep you full) spread with either Almond butter and/or a natural peanut butter. On top of that I sprinkle a little wheat germ and drizzle honey on top. I eat this and drink a glass of milk and I am not hungry. P.S: I am the type of person who constantly thinks of food but this really satisfies me.
Have a half fry egg with a bowl of cereal in cold milk with a side of small cup of orange juice and some fruit like grapefruit or grapes or kiwi. That should keep you full for some time. If not add some pancakes to that.
Have some fruit and yogurt. Maybe add a piece of toast and wash it down with a small glass of OJ.
Have a toasted bagel with marmite and butter, that's yummy and you don't need a recipe
well is 1145 east coast. try a freah sclice of ham. ';slightly'; (almost beyond a warmth) fry both side on a pan (in light butter if you like but don't have to.) take two slices of bread put the ham in and a slice of american cheese. toast the sandwich in the pan using a spatula to press it down. flip it to the other side, press it down. when both side are lithy toasted...done. eat it with a glass of milk.. is F%26amp;%*ng good. email me when ur done to thank me.
Well, you can have something nutritious, like oatmeal, with some toast and some juice. (If you eat meat, you can add some sausage or some eggs to that meal.)
Starving people should eat protein-packed eggs for breakfast! Fry them to make an egg sandwich or make some egg hash with potatoes and peppers.
What about eggs? They're quick and easy to make. How 'bout some scrambled eggs on toast? And some fruit and/or juice?

The website I linked below has quite a few excellent healthy recipes for breakfast...

    Spinach and tomato omelet

    1 teaspoon extra-virgin olive oil

    5 cherry tomatoes, halved

    1 scallion, sliced

1 cup baby spinach, washed, with water still clinging to leaves

1/2 cup liquid egg substitute, such as Egg Beaters

1/4 cup shredded reduced-fat Cheddar cheese

    1/8 teaspoon salt

    1/8 teaspoon freshly ground pepper

    1 tablespoon water

    1. Spray a small nonstick skillet with cooking spray. Add oil and heat over medium-high heat. Add tomatoes and scallion and cook, stirring once or twice, until softened, 1 to 2 minutes. Place spinach on top, cover and let wilt, about 30 seconds. Stir to combine.

    2. Pour in egg substitute, reduce heat to medium-low and continue cooking, stirring constantly with a heatproof rubber spatula, until the egg is starting to set, about 20 seconds. Continue cooking, lifting the edges so the uncooked egg will flow underneath, until mostly set, about 30 seconds more.

    3. Sprinkle cheese, salt and pepper over the omelet. Lift up an edge of the omelet and drizzle the remaining 1 tablespoon water under it. Cover, reduce heat to low and cook until the egg is completely set and the cheese is melted, about 2 minutes. Fold over using the spatula and serve.

Layer potatoes, salt %26amp; pepper, vegetables and/or meats, and 1 cup cheese into pie plate. Top with remaining cheese. Bake at 350掳 for about 40 minutes or until center is set. Cool slightly before serving.

    Make your own combination:

Mexican Frittata - Use Monterey Jack %26amp; Cheddar cheese, diced green chilies, diced tomato, chopped onion

French Frittata - Use Swiss cheese, chopped ham, chopped spinach, and sliced mushrooms

Italian Frittata - Use Mozzarella cheese, thin quartered zucchini slices, chopped tomato, and sliced black olives.
cook some plain quaker oats and then add in some banana and with it have a slice of wheat toast with some peanut butter onit..it will definatley keep you full for a long time while giving u the right amouint of fat:carbs:protein to kick start your day!

or you could opt for some cereal thats kinda plain like special K protein, and then add in some berries with skim milk and a glass of OJ..which would also be good

btu usually for myself i have a bowl of kashi 7 whole grains puffed with fat free lactaid and with that i have a fruit (either banana or apple) and then i have a lightly satled rice cake (or 2) with either an egg white i microwave on each or a little bit of peanut butter...i eat that around 7ish and that gets me to about 10:30-11 in school the3n im ready for lunch

    You also have cereal

here is good way of making healthy breakfast:

get a whole grain cereal Plain or regular

put in some blueberries or strawberries or raspberries (all 3) + banana (all fresh)

  • Recently I have started eating quaker for breakfast. Any tasty winter/summer recipes please?

I live in Greece and unfortunately the food stores here sell only the plain type of quaker (with no fruits and other ingredients).

Thank you all in advance for your help.Recently I have started eating quaker for breakfast. Any tasty winter/summer recipes please?
buy strawberries mangoes apples and other fruits. chop them into fine pieces then it will serve as your ';OATMEAL's'; topping. put milk, then cream if you like

then it is so tasty and it is so nutritousRecently I have started eating quaker for breakfast. Any tasty winter/summer recipes please?
I love to make it with brown sugar, cinnamon, and rasins. I've also cooked it plain, added peanut butter and bananas. Here's an excellent recipe for homemade granola. It's my favorite way to eat it in the summer. If you don't have maple syrup over there, golden syrup or honey will work too.

    3 cups rolled oats

    1 cup slivered almonds

    1 cup cashews

    3/4 cup shredded sweet coconut

1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons dark brown sugar

1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons maple syrup

    1/4 cup vegetable oil

    3/4 teaspoon salt

    1 cup raisins

Preheat oven to 250 degrees F.

In a large bowl, combine the oats, nuts, coconut, and brown sugar.

In a separate bowl, combine maple syrup, oil, and salt. Combine both mixtures and pour onto 2 sheet pans. Cook for 1 hour and 15 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes to achieve an even color.

Remove from oven and transfer into a large bowl. Add raisins and mix until evenly distributed.
Quaker Oatmeal is great with some added Raisins, Walnuts, Brown Sugar or Maple Syrup. I think its better to add your own stuff than buy the pre-flavored stuff.
You can add any fruit that is in season. Really good ones are apples - good for winter, blueberries, and peaches - both good for summer.

Don't forget to add 2 TBSP Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
i think u can be creative n add dried apricots n raisins, or maybe some roasted nuts as well? they taste good with oats. good luck!
mix a little cinnamin, sugar and applesauce in it , raisins are great too.

Main course bacon recipes other than breakfast, pasta carboni, pizza, quiche or soups?

Bacon is frequently on sale %26amp; can be frozen.Main course bacon recipes other than breakfast, pasta carboni, pizza, quiche or soups?
Bacon is the universal meat, it goes with nearly everything! Bacon wrapped beef or seafood or poultry all work and the limit is only your imagination.

One real easy and tasty one is to lay out chicken thighs in a baking dish (dark meat works better then white because of the longer cooking time), smother it with a mix of bold bbq sauce, honey, s %26amp; p, and top it with a layer of bacon, and cook it until it's done. If you prefer white meat, half cook the bacon first.

Or make a marinade of 1/2 cup pineapple juce, 1/4 cup lime juice, oregano, minced garlic, and some veg. oil and marinate pieces of plantain, pineapple, chicken, and bacon. Then place the ingredients on soaked skewers and grill.

For a dipping and glazing sauce use 1 cup brown sugar, 4 tbsp soy sauce, 4 tbsp ketchup, 1 tsp ground mustard, 1 can crushed pineapple with juice, and 2 tbsp of cornstarch. Combine the ingredients and simmer untill thickened, just a few minutes. Scrumptious and sweet!Main course bacon recipes other than breakfast, pasta carboni, pizza, quiche or soups?
I like making club style sandwiches. 2 or 3 slices of toast, mayo or miracle whip, lettuce, tomato and ham, turkey or both meats.

    Hope this helps.
Bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwiches are great for lunches. There are several good tasting combo of club sandwiches and chicken sandwiches that include bacon. Bacon wrapped shrimp is a good appetizer, and for dinner bacon wrapped chicken breasts are excellent. These (and many more) recipes can be found at www.cooks.com or www. recipezaar.com.

What are some good BREAKFAST recipes using sourdough breaD?

I would make sourdough French toast. I would cut the slices thicker than a normal slice of bread and saturate the bread with egg mixture. I am now getting hungry. What are some good BREAKFAST recipes using sourdough breaD?
1)Slice and toast it then top with cheese whiz. Yummy! Or, 2)make a breakfast Fritatta- in a pie dish put a layer of cubed sourdough bread. Top with shredded cheese of choice, add some diced ham or bacon, diced seeded tomatoes and some sliced scallions, greens and all. In a bowl scramble about 4 raw eggs with about 1/4 cup milk and a pinch of salt and pepper. Pour it over the bread and cheese mixture and bake it in the oven at 325 until the center is cooked. Very good. kind of like a mix between quiche and omelet!. Or 3) Make an eastern European style french toast by mixing i egg into aa cup of cold mild seasoned with some sugar and a pinch of vanilla and Cinnamon. Soak the bread then pan saute in a buttered skillet until golden on both sides. Much lighter in flavor and density then regular french toast. Or...make seasoned croutons by dicing, tossing with a bit of melted butter and olive oil seasoned with parm cheese. Toast in the oven at 375 until golden. Let cool and use in salads. What are some good BREAKFAST recipes using sourdough breaD?
French Toast with sourdough bread is great.

Combine whole eggs and evaporated milk ( the amounts vary depending on how many pieces of toast you are making)

I use 2 eggs for 1 cup milk

Dip bread slices in egg/milk mixture

Melt butter (2-3 T) in skillet until hot

Fry bread ( 2 pieces at a time) in skillet until light brown and crispy

Sprinkle toast with cinnamon and powdered sugar or lemon juice and powdered sugar
eggs in a nest. cut or pull out a round ';hole'; in the middle of a piece of buttered bread. place bread in a skillet on medium heat. put a pat of butter in the hole and crack an egg into the hole. cook on medium-low heat.till egg is set being careful not to burn bread.
Egg McMuffin! Toast the bread and put some mayonnaise on it. Then melt some cheese on top of a fried egg, and put ham on top. Put all that between the two pieces of sourdough, and voila! Add bacon if you like. :)
I would just toast it and drizzle olive oil on it.

    Spanish Breakfast Recipes?

I need to find a Spanish breakfast recipe. Anything really just a recipe of something that Spanish people usually eat for breakfast. Can anyone please help me out!?Spanish Breakfast Recipes?
Spain. In Central Spain the traditional breakfast is chocolate con churros 鈥?hot chocolate with Spanish-style fritters, which are extruded sticks of doughnut-like dough with a star-shaped profile covered in sugar. The chocolate drink is made very thick and sweet. In Madrid, churros are somewhat smaller and shaped like a charity ribbon. This meal is normally served in cafeterias. In the South and West is more common for breakfast to have a cup of coffee (usually with milk) and toasts with either olive oil and salt, or tomato, though sometimes butter and jam are used. The quicker breakfast replaces toasts with galletas (a type of cookies made with flour, sugar, oil and vanilla flavour), madalenas (a Spanish version of the French madeleines made with oil instead of butter) or buns.

    **************************************鈥?br>

SPAIN (desayuno) and PORTUGAL (caf茅 da manh茫)

Probably the most common breakfast in Spain and Portugal is a roll with butter and jam and a cup of milk-rich coffee.

Spain is the country responsible for bringing chocolate from the New World to Europe, and she reflects her culinary and colonial history in the fact that chocolate is a more common beverage for adults there than in other countries. One popular and indulgent breakfast combination is chocolate con churros; thick hot chocolate served with a sort of deep-fried tubular doughnut coated with cinnamon sugar. Aficionados dunk the churro into the chocolate before each bite.

In Catalan, olive country, bread is often served with olive oil instead of butter, and a favorite breakfast treat is pan con tomate, an ancestor of the American pizza. It is made by brushing a thick, crusty slice of grilled bread with olive oil, garlic, tomato, and (sometimes) topping it with a slice of ham. Fried eggs and omelets are also popular.Spanish Breakfast Recipes?
being Espanola (Spanish from Spain) i wish we could take 'credit' for chocolate coming to Europe.

In reality, we were given Chocolate by the Aztecs of Mexico so it did come back by Spain but was actually discovered by the ancient Aztecs and Incas of Mexico. Just a minor correction to info.. Report Abuse

Spanish breakfast is small and usually consists of a cup of coffee with a slice of toast and jam (almost exclusively apricot, for some reason), a pastry or churros. Churros are often served with chocolate instead of coffee.

Freshly squeezed orange juice is popular and surprisingly common - even the smallest bar will invariably have an orange squeezer. This usually pushes the price of the breakfast up by quite a bit - just your coffee and toast/pastry will usually cost 1.50-1.80鈧? the juice doubles the price.

    Types of Coffee:

Caf茅 solo Espresso, the standard form of coffee in Spain - if you want lots of water in it you could ask for it to be added (con agua caliente) but you might get laughed at. Seriously!

Caf茅 con leche Espresso with milk added. The most popular form of coffee in Spain.

Cafe cortado Espresso with a drop of milk.

Cafe manchado A little coffee and a lot of milk.

More like coffee flavored milk than a proper coffee.

Caf茅 descafeinado Decaff coffee. You can ask for it from the machine (de maquina or from a sachet (de sobre.

Caf茅 con hielo An espresso and a glass of ice. You're supposed to pour the espresso over the ice, but I wouldn't recommend it.
What about some Huevos Rancheros. Eggs Country Style

Cut a small tomato, Slice 1/4 of green or red sweet pepper, and 1/2 onion in slices; using a spoon of margarine or vegetable oil fried them slowly for 6 to 7 minutes on a low flame, then: put 2 or 3 eggs on top of the sofrito that you made from the onion tomatoes and pepper, put the stove on medium flame and cover until the yolks of the eggs are cooked.
